Shero has to flip Kinkaid this off season while his value is at an all time high, right? |

What would you expect in return for Kinkaid? |

I'd be completely fine with that – it's not hard to find a solid backup – but goaltenders don't really fetch that much on the trade market. |

I'm thinking the best we'd get is a second rounder. I think he showed this year he can be a solid starter, and he has quite a cheap salary |

Yes, we need to replenish that pick somehow. |

I wouldn't trade him. He isn't expensive and is good to have until Blackwood is ready. Cory has missed time the last two seasons, and we need a guy like KK that can step in and give us a quality start. I dont know that we would have made the playoffs with out KK this year coming in relief for Cory.
You also have to look at the locker room. Lets be real in most cases the backup goalie is the teams # 1 cheerleader. The guys in that locker room loved KK. He kept things light during high pressure times. From his tweets, to his crazy suites that he was wearing. The team really responded well to him when he was in net and really played hard in front of him.
Plus KK is not going to get the return that would warrant a trade. I think the average team would give up #4 pick MAX for him. Realistically a #5 pick. Didn't we get Lack for a 7th pick mid season (i might be wrong- could be a 6th)? You can argue Lack was much more proven as well.
BUT Ray seems to know how to get the max return out of Edmonton, so maybe he can get that joke of a GM to give us back Larsson for KK. |

I'd vote Hall for Calder and Vezina as well. |

What helps me sleep at night over that wasted 2nd round pick is that it cost Grabner a lot more then us.
Guy at one point prior to the trade was going to get paid next season. I think a lot of GMs crossed him off their list. Im sure he will always have a home back at the Garden, but wont be on his terms. He will have to give a discount to play there. |

I believe we traded Dalton Prout for Eddie Lack.... I could be wrong though..

Not sure why that makes you sleep better. The Rangers may get him back now at a discount, which will make the trade even more lopsided in their favor.

Barzal earned it. But Nico was certainly the best player from his draft year thus far. Really liking what I have seen from the kid. Great two way, tons of speed and great vision. Would love to see a couple more pounds on the kid, and the odd selfish play. I was impressed with his rookie season. |

Do not watch west coast hockey? Cause Boeser was amazing this year before he got hurt. |

Nico had a Hart finalist next to him.. Keller on the Yotes.. Boeser on the Canucks.. who did they have helping them? the Sedins? Horvat? They're good, but not Hall-good. Barzal might've had easier matchups. But still.. I see Nico and there's Hall on his wing. They also convincingly bested Nico in points, while not having superstar linemates. I get what you're saying tho. |

so our big fish options this offseason.., have 2 elite centers (works for Pitt, and would solve our secondary scoring issue), or have a top dman playing his off-wing.
If we get Tavares, maybe we're able to package Zacha, Quenneville, or McLeod for a top pairing LEFT handed dman.
I think Hischier needs Hall on his wing. Put Johansson and Bratt with Tavares and presto. |

If we get Tavares we're probably cuffed to make a splash on the defensive side. Especially since the three players you mentioned make little money to send back in a trade. I do like the idea though. At this point, I think we can all but guarantee John Q gets traded this off season. I wouldn't mind them shipping Zacha on his merry way either. What a waste of a top 6 pick. |

Zacha is very underrated. His passing and vision is so good and has a great shot. He needs linemates that finish. |

For every amazing pass Zacha makes there's three times as many plays where he doesn't hustle, plays soft on the puck, or passes up beautiful scoring chances with a pass that makes no sense. Zacha will frustrate us for years to come.. The dude had 25 points this season and was invisible in the playoffs. I really don't get what everyone sees in this guy. smh. |
